Glorian addressed mental health in African Americans in Madison County, Alabama. She spearheaded a new initiative called “You Can Sit With Us” for 57 North Hampton, a nonprofit organization that provides free counseling services to uninsured and underinsured individuals. She hosted several events in the Madison County area. These events included candle making, visiting art museums, painting classes, dinner with therapists, etc. Glorian has grown in her leadership capabilities, made connections with different businesses in the Huntsville area, and helped one attendee seek counseling with the therapist from the dinner with the therapist events. By providing an escape into something healthy and interactive, the initiative increased the awareness and utilization of different coping strategies; thus giving insight into beautiful alternatives in a world that can sometimes become overwrought with trials.
