Shanquell is addressing unintentional childhood injuries in Birmingham, Alabama, by informing parents of the potential child safety risk(s) in their environment. At Community Care Development Network events and food pantries, she will provide “Top 5 Child Safety Tips” flyers to families with young children and host a child safety class for young expectant mothers. Additionally, there will be an effort to refer eligible families with young children without proper car restraints to SAFE Kids in order to receive a car seat and training on proper installment.
