Navaneeth and Anjali are working to educate and empower high-school students in Birmingham to identify and address issues affecting the social, physical, and mental well-being of adolescents in Jefferson County through youth-led initiatives. By establishing a youth advisory group in collaboration with the Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH) and Birmingham City Schools, they aim to amplify adolescent voices in the public health sphere by providing students with the skills and resources needed to create lasting impact in their communities. In turn, this partnership offers JCDH valuable youth perspectives to help guide its adolescent-focused initiatives.
