Tawona implemented a community-based initiative to increase access to cervical cancer education and screening for women experiencing homelessness. In partnership with the O’Neal Cancer Center and Alabama Regional Medical Services (ARMS), she organized informal gatherings and educational sessions to raise awareness and connect women to no-cost cervical screenings. Through relationship-building and outreach, Tawona helped reduce barriers to care and supported women in accessing critical preventive services.
