Shaul conducted a community-engaged project focused on lead exposure and health communication across four areas of Greater Birmingham. They organized community meetings to gather perspectives on lead awareness and preferred communication methods, and collaborated with local stakeholders and venues to facilitate these sessions. Shaul developed a health communication product on lead, adapted existing tools, and created qualitative questions to assess effectiveness. They also engaged residents through community events and administered follow-up assessments to evaluate knowledge retention and behavior change over time. This work helped expand outreach to new communities and informed ongoing efforts to improve environmental health communication.
