Andee and Caroline were dedicated to enhancing the well-being of adults with developmental disabilities through their project focused on improving access to physical education. Partnering with Unless U and Post Place, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering adults with disabilities, they aimed to bolster the confidence of students in their physical abilities while also equipping families with practical exercises for home. Their initiative sought to bridge existing gaps in physical education for this community, fostering not only healthier lifestyles but also a sense of empowerment and inclusivity. Through evidence-based exercise routines, mindfulness sessions, and a virtual support network, participants reported increased energy, decreased stress, and a greater sense of community and accountability—key components for long-term resilience in healthcare.
