Shallom is addressing chronic pain in older adults by building confidence in everyday movement through low-impact activity, mobility routines, and journaling. In partnership with UCEM–EIM, participants learn strategies like pacing, breathing, posture, and task breakdown, then apply them through self-selected movements in daily life to reduce fear and increase self-efficacy. Ongoing support comes through the Exercise is Medicine Facebook group, where participants share barriers, track progress, and identify pain patterns. By year’s end, Shallom will co-create condition-specific movement infographics (e.g., arthritis, fibromyalgia, back pain) housed within UCEM, providing sustainable tools to support long-term pain management and quality of life.
