Dezirae is working to increase vaccine awareness, confidence, and uptake among adults ages 18–35 in Jefferson County, Alabama, with a focus on underserved communities. Recognizing that many young adults face gaps in knowledge, misinformation, and barriers to access, she leads culturally relevant education sessions and interactive workshops designed to improve understanding of vaccine-preventable diseases. Through partnerships with organizations such as the Jefferson County Department of Health and local housing authorities, Dezirae also provides resource navigation support to help participants identify where and how to access vaccines. By combining education with practical guidance and community engagement, her project aims to empower young adults to make informed health decisions, strengthen vaccine confidence, and improve overall vaccination rates.
