Caroline and Abbie are addressing gaps in women’s health education by creating a health literacy curriculum for adolescent girls through GirlSpring’s “Girl Talk” initiative. Their project includes in-school and community-based sessions for middle and high school girls in Birmingham. Through these sessions, they aim to build confidence in understanding women’s health topics and seeking gynecologic care, including puberty and reproductive health, menstrual health, hygiene and self-care, mental health, safe relationships, and navigating gynecologic care.
