“The one essential thing is that we strive to have light in ourselves. When people have light in themselves, it will shine out from them.” —Albert Schweitzer
The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship of Alabama relies entirely on grants and charitable contributions from people like you to fulfill our mission of addressing health disparities by developing Leaders in Service.
By supporting ASF of Alabama, you make a two-fold difference:
- Cultivating community leaders who will work in health and human service fields serving vulnerable populations
- Immediate change in the lives of individuals and communities where they conduct year-long service projects
Since 2015 we have mentored 57 alumni and 16 current student leaders. And they, in turn, have carried out over 12,000 hours of community service through yearlong, high-impact service projects that meet the health needs of underserved communities around the state of Alabama. When the initial year ends for the Schweitzer Fellows, the difference they’re making doesn’t: they carry on their commitment to meeting the health needs of underserved people as members of the Schweitzer Fellows for Life alumni network, now 3,500 strong.
These Fellows are Dr. Albert Schweitzer’s living legacy. Help them improve the health of vulnerable communities with your tax-deductible donation.
